When You Hurt - Victory In Jesus
When you are hurting – whether it be
from a divorce, a broken relationship, marital conflict, death of a
loved one, problems with your children, loss of a job, health
problems or some other difficult life circumstance - many times it
is difficult or impossible to feel God’s peace. Life may even seem
impossible and hopeless, you may feel helpless, and the future may
appear bleak.
We at There Is An Answer want you to know that even during these
painful times, God does love you and He does still have a plan for
your life – no matter what has happened. The promise that God gave
Jeremiah for the exiled Israelites still holds true for His people
(you) today.
For
I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans for
welfare
and not
for calamity, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah
29:11
Please take a few minutes to read through the following material and
Scriptures. It is our prayer and hope for you that you will find it
helpful. We have also included some suggested books to read and we
also encourage you to attend your local Church regularly, join a
Bible Study, and seek advice or counsel during your difficult time.
Painful Circumstances
Understanding why God allows heartbreaking and painful circumstances
to occur in our lives is probably one of the hardest things for us
as Christians to understand. It is during these times that God’s
Word can bring healing to our lives and His truth can bring order,
understanding, and meaning so that we can choose to go on and live
lives that will bring glory to God.
God doesn’t expect us to just move on or “get over it.” God’s plan
is for us to have peace and joy in our hearts during the storms of
life. He never stops conforming us to the image of His Son, Jesus
Christ and it is Jesus who gives us the victory.
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun
a good work
in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians
1:6
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord
Jesus
Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
Please take a few minutes and read through the following Scriptures
and ask God to make them real in your hearts. It is our prayer for
you that whether you are in the early stages of your painful
situation or you have been there for awhile, that God will give you
a spirit of wisdom and of revelation, that your heart may be
enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His calling and
the riches of the glory of His inheritance to you.
For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the
Lord Jesus which exists
among you, and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving
thanks for you,
while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord
Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of
revelation in the
knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened, so that
you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of
the glory of
His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness
of His power
toward us who believe.
Ephesians 1:15-19
Lord, I pray that you will open my eyes, ears, and heart to hear
your truths that will transform my life, give me understanding and
peace even during this difficult time in my life. In the name of
Jesus, Amen.
